Ever since mulling over green eggs and ham with Seuss or tumbling down the rabbit hole with Alice as a boy, I’ve been wrapped up in storytelling. Stories shape the world and the way we see it, no matter how old we are.
My first profession was as a songwriter/performer in Los Angeles, Toronto and Vancouver working with various publishing firms for many years. A great adventure. I now teach literature and creative writing at Langara College in Vancouver.
But we all, in one way or another, return to our roots. Mine go back to drawing and writing as a boy. Whether it was Tenniel’s walrus and carpenter on the beach, Searles’ Baron Munchausen or Uderzo’s crazy Gauls, I was always, and am always, amazed by what someone with a pencil and an imagination can accomplish.
